Arcadia Man Arrested in Prostitution Sting

An Arcadia resident was one of 12 arrested in a prostitution sting in Pasadena.

An Arcadia man is one of 12 suspects arrested in a prostitution sting in Pasadena, police announced Tuesday.

Pasadena Police said they booked and released Gary Wu, 46, Thursday during a five-hour sting operation that took place on the 3100 block of E. Colorado Blvd. Wu was cited for misdemeanor soliciting prostitution and is scheduled to appear in court within 60 days.

The operation involved two undercover police officers posing as prostitutes. Lt. Kelly Evans said his agency conducts similar stings several times a year.

"There is some prostitution in Pasadena, like any city," Evans said. "These programs are designed to discourage (johns)."

The number of johns picked up in a single sting can vary, Evans added, noting that 12 arrests is not unsual for such an operation.

Others also arrested were: Jeff Myers, 37, of West Covina; Javier Cervantes, 19 of El Monte; James Ferrero, 32, of Monrovia; Miguel Huerta, 32, of Monrovia; Pablo Samaniego, 39, of Monrovia; Michael Gregorian, 49, of Glendale; Mauricio Morales, 57, of Glendale; Ramirez Rossini, 37, of Downey; Florante Espiritu, 51, of Carson; Rigoberto Corona, 57, of Baldwin Park; and Richard Andrews, 53, of Azusa.
