The City of Arcadia will offer free mulch to Arcadia residents Feb. 11 and 18 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Public Works Service Center at 11800 Goldring Road. Mulch will be available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. Residents interested in the mulch should bring a containers for transport, gloves and safety glasses and should be prepared to load the mulch into their vehicle themselves.

The recent windstorm produced a large quantity of debris which has been collected and transformed into mulch. Mulch has many benefits and is one of the most important ways to maintain a healthy garden. Mulch can be used in landscaping planter areas, gardens and around trees to hold in soil moisture.
