5 Things You Need to Know Today: Sports, Movies and a Trip to the Doctor

Arcadia High battles it out in basketball and soccer, and a doctor shares the benefits of exercise.

1. has a busy day in sports. The and teams travel to John Muir High School for games Tuesday afternooon. The soccer game starts at 3:30 p.m., while boys basketball tips off at 5:00 p.m. Meanwhile, the in a game at 5:00 p.m. at Arcadia High.

2. Physician, professor, best-selling author and former Olympian Vincent M. Fortanasce, M.D. hosts a free seminar Tuesday night designed to educate and arm the public in the fight against some of the most devastating diseases plaguing our society. Dr. Fortanasce, who's a world-renowned physician and clinical professor of neurology at USC, patients have included Tommy Lasorda, professional athletes, and even a Pope. Tuesday's event titled will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the doctor's private suite (665 West Naomi Ave Suite #201 in Arcadia). Space is limited so reservations are encouraged. 4. Wednesday night the hosts . February's film, Life Is Beautiful, won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Film for 1998. Films start around 6:00pm and will last as late as 9:00pm, depending on the film's length. Feel free to bring dinner from home; dessert will be provided. Due to the adult nature of some of the films, this event is for those 18-years-old and above.
