Happy Birthday: Arcadia Woman Turns 107
Nadya Lanyi, who retired at 100, says the secret to her longevity is "hiking, hard work and good food."
At 85, Nadya Lanyi chased down a man who snatched her purse on a busy New York street until police could apprehend him. At age 100, she finally retired from her job at U.S. Bronze.
Still going strong, Lanyi recently celebrated her 107th birthday in a "New York State of mind" with a Big Apple-themed birthday party at home in the Vista Cove Senior Living Center.
The centenarian—who escaped from the former Soviet Union during the Russian Revolution—credits her longevity to "hiking, hard work and good food," the Arcadia Weekly reported.
