UPDATED: Wayward Bear Cub Wanders Back Into Hills
Animal was spotted in the area north of Foothills Middle School.
UPDATE 11:42 a.m.: The bear cub that was spotted earlier eventually made its way back up into the woods above Arcadia, police said.
Police could not immediately say how big the bear was, only describing it as very small. There was no word if any other bears accompanied the cub.
PREVIOUSLY: Arcadia Police officers were preoccupied with what was reported as a small bear outside a residence Monday morning.
Two officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of Oakhaven Road around 9:52 a.m. The bear was seen to the front of a residence. Police were still out looking for the bear just before 10:30 a.m., according to Sergeant Kirk Petersen of Arcadia Police.
The bear was last seen northbound towards a gated community, according to scanner reports.
No further information was available.
