From Outdoor Concerts to Historic Tours

Time to plan the weekend ahead

Here comes the weekend, and not a moment too soon. What have you got planned for your down time? We’ve got a list of suggestions, so be sure to check them out. Enjoy!

 

1.

Where/When: Arcadia City Hall, Thursday, 6:30-8 p.m.

Why Go: Come out for an evening of oldies featuring Tommy Tassi and the Authentics. Bring a picnic dinner and a blanket or some lawn chairs.

Pricing: Free.

 

2.

Where/When: 500 S. Myrtle Ave., Friday, 5-9 p.m.

Why Go: Come out and enjoy an evening in Old Town Monrovia, featuring fresh produce, kiddie rides and plenty of fun for the whole family.

Pricing: Free.

 

3.

Where/When: LA County Arboretum, Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Why Go: Both plants and materials for growing and caring for them will be on display and for sale, and lectures and demonstrations will be held throughout both days of the event.

Pricing: Free with admission.

 

4.

Where/When: LA County Arboretum, Sunday, 1-4 p.m.

Why Go: Check out these docent-led tours of the historical Santa Anita depot and learn what it was like when still operational. Tours also are offered each Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Pricing: Free with admission.

 

5.

Where/When: The Coffee Gallery, Sunday, 7:30 p.m.

Why Go: The Coffee Gallery Backstage presents The Grand Ole Conglomeration in concert, featuring Matt Witler (mandolin, vocals), Kyle Tuttle (banjo, vocals) and Nick DiSebastion (guitar, vocals), in a rare west-coast performance.

Pricing: $15.
