Get Out: Arcadia Weekend Planner

Patch has the scoop on all the events happening locally this weekend; live music, theater, food trucks and more await you!

1. 

The (301 N. Baldwin Ave.) is offering an introductory class to permaculture from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday where you can learn to create a food forest in your own backyard through both lecture and hands-on demonstrations. Participants will have their questions answered, and get to take a seedball home at the end of the class. Registration is recommended; call 626-821-4623 or email jill.berry@arboretum.org to register. The cost is 428 for non-members and @25 for members.

Head over to  for live music at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. There is also a happy hour from 3-7 p.m. on Saturday. The Derby is located at 233 E. Huntington Dr.

The  (87 W Sierra Madre Blvd.) presents The Yeomen of the Guard at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturdya, and a 2:30 p.m. matinee on Sunday. Tickets are $25. The show runs through September 24.

 (222 W. Sierra Madre Blvd.) is the place to be on Saturday if you’re in the mood for food truck fare! From 11 a.m.-6 p.m., Grilled Cheese Patrol, Sloppy Gourmet, Krazy BBQ, Los Angeles Shaved Ice, Lake Street Creamery, Mama's Food Truck, Hungry Nomad, Go Country 105, Dumpling Station, Get Your Lardon, and Peanut Butter Truck will all be on site to cater to your hungry stomachs!

On Saturday from 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m., nearby Pasadena hosts its weekly weekend Farmer's Market. Vendors sell fresh, seasonal fruits and vegetables, eggs, fish and pasture-grazed meats. Live plants and cut flowers are also regularly available. The market also offers prepared foods, such as baked goods, breads, Mediterranean foods, nuts, and a Mexican food cart preparing hot meals. Sounds like fun! Check it out at the intersection of N. Sierra Madre Blvd. & Paloma St.
