Girl Scouts Honor Two Arcadia High School Students

The Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles have named Arcadia High School students Alana DeBlase and Alexis Hisey as two of the Scouts' 94 Emerging Leaders.

The group held a luncheon Wednesday at the Ray Dolby Ballroom in Hollywood honoring DeBlase and Hisey, along with the other Emerging Leaders.

DeBlase is a high school junior who has been active in Girl Scouts for 11 years. She has earned the Girl Scout Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards. She is an active member of the Associated Student Body and serves as president of the Girls LEAD planning committee. At a recent Drama Teacher’s Association of Southern California competition, she took 6th place out of students from 74 schools.

Meanwhile, Hisey, also a junior, has been a Girl Scout for 12 years. She, too,has earned the Girl Scout Silver and Bronze Awards. Her interests include volunteering, cheerleading, dance, baking and service trips to various Native American reservations. She has been involved with her local hospital helping create CPR courses for coaches and teens. Alexis says she hopes to have a career in international health care.
