Rose Bowl Cycling Event Postponed, Rescheduled for 2014

Officials have rescheduled the inaugural Rose Bowl Legacy Cycling Challenge, which was slated to launch later this month.

The Cycling Challenge is now scheduled to take place fall of 2014.

Officials have not returned calls regarding the postponement, but on the event's Facebook page, an official said "On behalf of the Rose Bowl Legacy Cycling Challenge planning team I wanted to reach out to inform you that the event will not take place on Sunday, October 20, 2013 as planned. The ride will be postponed until the fall of 2014."

The race was slated to roll through a portion of Arcadia.

The cycling event would benefit City of Hope in Duarte and the Rose Bowl Legacy Campaign, which is tasked with maintaining the historic stadium.

Registration is set to reopen in early 2014.
