Santa Anita Little League Swings Into a New Season

The Giants and Cardinals played their first game of the season last weekend.

This past weekend in Arcadia, the Giants and Cardinals of the Santa Anita Little League had their first spring game at Lojeski Field at Eisenhower Park .

Although there were no winners or losers since the game was considered a "bat through," where every player gets a chance to bat and no score is kept, these 7 to 12 year-olds played hard. The Giants were coached by Chad Stein and the Cardinals were coached by Jeff Underwood. A supportive crowd of parents and other family members sat on the bleachers and grass cheering as each slugger stepped to the plate. If opening day is any indication, it's sure to be a home run of a season for Santa Anita Little League.
