Survey Says Arcadia's Walkability is Average

According to the folks at Walk Score, the city is in a crowded field in terms of foot-friendliness.

Walkability is defined as how close people are to the comforts in life, and a recent statewide study ranks Arcadia in the middle of the pack.

Walk Score, an organization that promotes the health and community benefits of walkable neighborhoods, recently ranked nearly 400 cities in the state. The higher the score, the higher the walkability.

Arcadia checked in with a ranking of 57, a few notches above the statewide average of 50. That puts it in league with cities such as San Diego, Newport Beach, Lynwood and Azusa. The highest-scoring city in the state was West Hollywood, with 89. The lowest foot-friendly score, according to the study, was the 8 from Mead Valley in Riverside County.
