Nash's Department store once stood on the northwest corner of Baldwin and Naomi, a spot now occupied by L.A. Fitness.
Hammond G. Nash took his family's charming corner grocery on Colorado Street in Pasadena and turned it into a department store chain with six locations, including one in Arcadia that opened in the 1950s.
Unfortunately, the Pasadena location burned to the ground in a fire that took place May 10, 1976. The chain, unable to recoup its losses from the fire, eventually had to shutter every location.
Do you remember Nash's?
