Tomato Talk at the Arboretum

Tomato guru Steve Goto gives his annual tomato talk at the Arboretum.

A large crowd of avid tomato and gardening aficionados gathered at the auditorium Wednesday to learn the secrets of this favorite fruit. Steve Goto gave some basic tomato care tips to a crowd of intent listeners. He described the great variety of tomatoes, as well as their spectrum of colors and taste. He touched on topics involving organic soil amendments, soil preparation, fertilizing, sun exposure, watering, diseases, pests, and acidity, while tying in humorous anecdotes of his extensive experience with tomatoes from the vine to the plate. Afterwards, audience members were invited to purchase tomatoes of their own.
