Uninvited Visitor Chills in Vacant Home

Police say they don't know why an uninvited guest was inside a vacant, fire-damaged property.

Police searched for a man who made himself an unwelcome guest inside a vacant home Sunday afternoon.

Authorities were called at 2:40 p.m. to the 2700 block of Longley Way. The property owner entered the residence, which was vacant, and found a man inside. No words were exchanged and the stranger left the location, as did the property owner who called authorities, said Lieutenant Coleen Flores of Arcadia Police.

The stranger hopped over a wall to the rear of the home and walked away, according to scanner reports.

Police were unable to find the man, only described as white, about 35- to 40-years old and 6-foot tall. He wore a gray or white shirt with jeans.

The residence was damaged in a fire, but how damaged the property was was not immediately known. It was also not immediately known how the stranger entered the home.
