Mission Memphis!: Scorch Sisters Compete in IBC "Battle of The Bands" Oct. 2

(Arcadia, CA) - Red Hot Blues is what the Scorch Sisters play, and their reputation is spreading far and quickly thanks in part to recent high-profile gigs including headlining Real Blues Festival 2 in May, "Ladies Do the Blues" in July and "Lorey's Blues For Hope" this past August among others. Not bad for a group that has been together less than six months!

Come see what sets these ladies apart from the rest of the pack as they compete in "Battle of the Blues Bands" at the Arcadia Blues Club, 16 E. Huntington Drive, Arcadia, Sunday, October 2. 3:50-4:15 p.m. $15. Info: (626) 447-9349 orwww.arcadiabluesclub.com. Event sponsored by the Santa Clarita Valley Blues Society, with the winner moving on to the 2012 International Blues Challenge competition taking place January 31-February 4, 2012 in Memphis, TN.

The recently-formed Scorch Sisters are a "super-group" of sorts whose principal members are highly-regarded SoCal musicians Francesca Capasso (vocals, percussion); Alicia McCracken Morgan (keyboards, vocals); and Kimberly "KC" Allison(guitars). Among the stellar bands and artists on the three ladies' collective musical resume's: Neil Young; Rod Stewart; Delaney Bramlett; Billy Vera and the Beaters; Joe Houston; Zola Moon; Don & Dewey; Bobby Womack; Melissa Etheridge; Spencer Davis; Carmine Appice; Randy Jackson; Some Like It Hot Revue; and Francesca and the Flames. Scorch Sisters made their performing debut at this past April's "Blues For The Rising Sun" benefit in Long Beach, followed by a headlining appearance at this past May's Real Blues Festival of Orange County 2.

"Francesca Capasso, singing from her soulwith fellow Scorch Sisters Alicia Morgan and guitarist Kimberly Allison, really brought it with their opening uptempo shuffle "Blues For Barnaby" and a scorching (excuse the pun!) guitar solo by Allison on "Still Remember," said Reagan. "Alicia is an awesome keyboard player...Francesca will take your heart if you let her...and you will," concludes Reagan in his revue, which ran in American Blues News.

A new Scorch Sisters CD is in the works and will be released on Kimberly Allison's Starliner Music label in the near future.
