Last Chance: Veeck Exhibit at Arcadia Library

Relics ranging from an old wooden peg leg a midget's jock strap, pay tribute to the life of legendary baseball owner Bill Veeck.

Thursday will be your last chance to catch the exhibit paying homage to influential 4-time Major League baseball owner Bill Veeck.

Entitled Bill Veeck: Baseball's Greatest Maverick, the exhibit showcases items such as a midget's jock strap commemorating the time Veeck sent a player with dwarfism to the plate for the St. Louis Browns.

It also features 100 photographs of Veeck rarely shown in public.

L.A.-based Baseball Reliquary designed the exhibit based on the Veeck biography of the same name written by Paul Dickson.

The Arcadia Public Library is at 20 West Duarte Road. The public can view the exhibit, which opened April 9, for the last time Thursday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
