Take a Trip Downtown and View This Year's Oscar-Nominated Costumes

The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising hosts its 19th annual Art of Motion Picture Costume Design exhibit. Costumes from 2010's biggest films will be on display for free.

Ladies and gentlemen, are you ready to get very close to the hottest Hollywood stars that graced the best films of 2010? You'll be in touching distance of screen luminaries such as Colin Firth, Jeff Bridges and Johnny Depp. Sounds pretty amazing, right?

OK, OK, they won't technically be there. But for a limited time, you can get that close to the intricate costumes they wore as well as dozens of other threads featured in 20 films from 2010.

The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising's 19th annual Art of Motion Picture Costume Design exhibit kicked off last month. Visit FIDM's museum, located at their downtown Los Angeles campus, to see this year's Academy Awards showcase featuring the actual outfits worn onscreen in The King's Speech, True Grit, Alice in Wonderland, and many other 2010 films. On hand are also pieces from the 2010 Academy Award winner for Best Costume, The Young Victoria.
