Students Get Free School Supplies at Santa Anita Racetrack (VIDEO)

Local underprivileged children got provided backpacks, school supplies, uniforms, and a massive back-to-school event at Santa Anita Park Tuesday that was hosted by Monrovia's Foothill Unity Center.

The above footage comes from ABC-7, which covered the event.  You can see their report above or on the station's website.

As noted in a Patch article last month, more than 1,800 children signed up for the event, which was funded by charitable donations.

In addition to free school supplies, students had access to cosmetology services from Citrus College students, free dental and vision screenings from the USC School of Dentistry and Western University College of Optometry and free food.

This is the Foothill Unity Center's 15th year holding the event.
