Shape Up in Summer by Pumping More Iron

If you think you are going to change the shape of your body for the summer by simple running on a treadmill a few minutes a day, you're just flat out wrong. You can't be afraid to lift some weight.

If you think you are going to change the shape of your body for the summer by simple running on a treadmill a few minutes a day, you're just flat out wrong. You can't be afraid to lift some weight.

If you are trying to get in shape for the summer, you need a complete approach. That includes resistance training and cardio. But more importantly, you should be focused on doing multi-joint exercises (lunges, curl to presses, rows, etc) more so than single joint exercises. If you all do is perform bicep curls, trust me when I tell you, you won't get anywhere.

If you want to shape up in summer, structure your fitness sessions so that you combine strength training with some high intensity cardio training. Your sessions shouldn't have to go more than an hour. Do this 2-3 days a week. If you're ambitious, aim for 4.
