On Friday, local congresswomen Grace Napolitano and Judy Chu, the city of El Monte and the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles will offer a free informational workshop on the immigration relief for undocumented youths, known as deferred action.
The event will take place in the auditorium at Lambert Park, located at 11431 McGirk St., in the neighboring city of El Monte, starting at 6 p.m.
"This Friday I am teaming up with my colleague Rep. Grace Napolitano, the City of El Monte, CHIRLA and other community advocates to host a community forum on the new deferred action program for childhood arrivals (DACA)," Chu said on her Facebook page.
According to the announcement, participants will have the opportunity to find out what they need to qualify for the DACA program and how to access necessary materials to complete the application, to get specific information about their individual cases and even to speak to an immigration expert.
