Late-Night Fire Torches Garage, No Injuries Reported
The cause of the fire is still unknown.
Fire fighters battled a blaze Monday night that torched a garage and detached carport. No foul play is suspected.
The fire was reported around 9:57 p.m in the 2100 block of South Santa Anita Avenue. The total loss in the fire is estimated at $70,000, according to Beth Stogner of the . No injuries were reported and no vehicles were lost in the blaze.
Some power lines were reportedly affected by the blaze. The garage and carport were vacant at the time. Fire fighters remained on scene until around 12:30 a.m. applying flame retardant foam to the carport and garage to ensure hotspots were quelled, Stogner said.
