Man Runs From Officers During Traffic Stop

Police search in vain after suspect flees from stolen vehicle, reportedly leaves his date behind.

Arcadia Police, with the help of Irwindale officers, searched for a man who fled from his vehicle during a traffic stop early Saturday.

The traffic stop happened shortly before 2 a.m. near the entrance to the 605 freeway at Live Oak Avenue, said Lt. Bob Anderson of Arcadia Police. The vehicle was seen swerving and the driver made a series of vehicle code violation prior to the stop.

The male driver bailed and left his female companion behind. According to scanner reports, the two met at a bar that night. The vehicle was later reported stolen, but had not been at the time of the stop, police said.

Officers also reportedly found counterfeit money inside the vehicle. Officers arrested the female occupant, Natalie Trevino, 27, of Downey, on suspicion of public intoxication.

Officers could not locate the male suspect, Anderson said.
