Monrovia detectives continuing investigation into the shooting, which left one injured. Three were arrested.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the relation between the intended victims and the three suspects arrested in a in Monrovia.

A woman was hit in the upper torso and possibly her right leg by what officers described as bird shot ammunition from a shot gun. The woman was hospitalized, but may have been released, said Sergeant Glen Coleman.

The woman and a man were sitting out on a porch of a residence in the 100 block of East Los Angeles Avenue just before 11:30 p.m. Saturday when, according to eyewitness statements, a maroon-colored van sped through the alley in the 1300 block of South Myrtle Avenue and turned east on East Los Angeles Avenue. Shots were then heard.

Officers were in the immediate area handling a loud party call when they heard the distinct sound of gun fire. Using eyewitness statements, officers immediately located the van on the 210 freeway eastbound. Officers eventually stopped the van and arrested the suspects after exiting the 605 freeway on Ramona Blvd.

The weapon used was recovered, Coleman said.

The names of the three suspects have not been released.
