Benihana Coming to Arcadia

Got a craving for Japanese teppanyaki cooking?

Popular Japanese teppanyaki chain Benihana will open up a location at the Westfield Santa Anita Mall.

Benihana recently took out a business license with the City of Arcadia.

No word yet on when the grand opening will take place, as a spokesperson for the company did not respond to calls for comment.

Do you think Benihana will make a good addition to the mall? Tell us in the comments.

Ugh. Even though I'd enjoy heading to Benihana on occasion, I loathe going to the crowded mall, so I'll pass. :(

Sandra, I try to do all my Christmas shopping in September/October. I can't stand the crowds at the mall during the Christmas season. It stresses me out. I love walking around and listening to all the campy holiday music and decorations, but standing in line for an hour to make a small purchase? No, thank you. I'll pass.

As a local college student of Arcadia myself I am excited about it. Do you know where in the mall they will be putting this restaurant?? I am looking to apply and hoping to find out what time frame they might be opening to start applying. Thank you so much for your time

We have 2 Tokyo Wako restaurants in the area (Pasadena and Arcadia) and a Shogun in Pasadena, both of which I think are better than Benihana. I always kid about them saying that after the chefs work their internship at Benihana, they graduate to Shogun or Tokyo Wako!

I am willing to give the restaurant a chance and see how it works out.
