Stores opened at midnight, giving shoppers 22 hours to bargain-hunt.

Dedicated bargain-hunters got an early start this year at mall, which opened its doors at 10 p.m. on Thanksgiving to allow people to line up in front of their favorite stores for midnight Black Friday door-busters.

Melissa Lindsey from Monrovia worked the 12 a.m. to 8 a.m. shift at and watched the lines grow increasingly long as midnight neared. When the doors finally opened, she said it was crazy.

General Manager of the mall David Burke said the mall brought in a DJ, extra resting stations and offered complimentary coffee to keep shoppers charged and energetic for their shopping in the very early morning.

“The response has been amazing,” Burke said. “People were waiting to get into the mall as soon as possible.”

The mall also had drawings throughout the night and gave away prizes, including a Playstation 3 and a 42-inch Vizo HDTV.
