Local Chinese Breakfast Chain to Open Arcadia Location

The restaurant will feature Taiwanese-style Chinese breakfast dishes such as twisted salty soy milk and sticky rice roll.

A local Taiwanese-style Chinese breakfast chain will open its newest location in the Arcadia Plaza strip mall on Duarte Road.

Four Sea Restaurant, which has locations in Hacienda Heights and Irvine, features popular traditional Chinese breakfast dishes such as twisted salty soy milk and sticky rice roll.

Owner Steven Ma told Patch he hopes to hold the restaurant's grand opening in May or early June. Four Sea, Ma says, will serve a niche market.

"Most [Chinese] restaurants focus on lunch and dinner," he said.

The Arcadia Plaza strip mall is at 713 W. Duarte Road; Four Sea will take over the spot formerly occupied by Arcadia Cleaners.

Do you like the idea of a Chinese breakfast restaurant in Arcadia?

Frankly I am tired of asian restaurants taking over the entire valley but I realize it is a losing propsition and I have to deal with it.
arc0300 March 27, 2013 at 06:42 PM
what kind of restaurant would you prefer betty? maybe i can find you a better city to move to. :P
EK March 27, 2013 at 07:02 PM
You have a choice to not eat there or any Asian Restaurant for that matter. But people need to eat and these restaurant owners are willing to serve so whats the problem?
R Terry March 27, 2013 at 10:53 PM
I think Betty is saying that she would like to see more restaurants open other than yet another Asian. Are you saying that the population is largely Asian so deal with it? I would like to see a Five Guys and another In n Out. But, I have never heard of a Chinese breakfast restaurant before.
DKat March 29, 2013 at 04:34 AM
I too agree with you Betty; when Norms went to Monrovia to propose opening up at a restaurant there, the city flat out refuse to accommodate them, also indicating that Monrovia would make it difficult for Norms to try and locate a place there to run a business's. One propose site was the former Macaroni Grill location, now a Zen Buffet. The other location was Acapulco's Restaurant locations, now still vacant. Soon Arcadia will be filled with spoiled rotten second and third generation Asian children, with differing values and attitudes; see downtown China town as an example of progress; high Asian crime and gangs--soon will be Arcadia and most of San Gabriel Valley. Judy Chu won't help much either--just more Asians sticking to filtering their money through their own Asian businesses, as usual, and clogging the street with luxury cars they can't even drive straight.
Edward March 29, 2013 at 06:21 AM
Yes, maybe we should just ban all Asian restaurants and open up McDonalds, Dunkin Donuts, and KFC. DKat, maybe you should read a book. I recommend supply and demand for dummies. Maybe then, you will understand why Norms or Acapulco was not successful. Oh by the way, to help with your concerns with gang and traffic issues maybe you can move to somewhere Santa Monica but please watch out for elderly drivers trying to run you down.
FChu March 29, 2013 at 02:21 PM
DKat, as a second generation Asian I am offended by your comments. For your information, not every second or third generation Asian is spoiled rotten. Just look at how many Asians are going to top universities through hard work. I have graduated from a top tier law school as well as a top tier MBA school. I currently own 4 businesses in SGV and more outside of the SGV. My point is that many of second and third generation Asians work hard and for you to make the type of comments you have made are just horribly racist.
EK March 29, 2013 at 03:49 PM
DKat :WOW! Talk about racism... It's is just soo easy to just point fingers at people for this and that but did we forget that Asians came to build your railroads? Asians are hard working people as well.Just because you see these things do not judge the entire communities. You don't know these people and you know don't know what they do for a living. I am Asian and I would love to see more other restaurants open up here so we have a variety of food but it's not fair to say Asian restaurants should stop opening up. When you start talking about other issues like Gangs and crimes and pointing fingers at Asians specifically your just being ignorant. You make it seem as though only Asians have gangs. As crimes goes maybe you should read the newspaper and see what kind are people breaking into homes in the community. As far as driving goes? Maybe you have not been been in Glendale or West LA where it is not Asians who are driving recklessly. Do not categories all Asians to be same because you are far from it. Your racist opinions are not needed here.
Joesomebody April 07, 2013 at 05:25 PM
She's just making an observation that most Americans who have lived in Arcadia for a while would agree with. It's not racism, it's frustration with the way Asians move in a literally destroy anything they touch. Perhaps you should remember that you are in a foreign land and stop trying to create a mini-Asia in the SGV. If you are so homesick, then go back to your country. Stop ruining ours with your bad driving and street gangs.
EK April 07, 2013 at 05:59 PM
@ JoeSomebody: If your not a Native American YOU should remember your on foreign land as well. We all came from another Country as some point. I'm sorry you are so ignorant that you don't see that you are being racist by blaming Asians for everything. But maybe you can try to find a hole to live in and deal with only you and yourself. Betty's comment had to do with Restaurants if you can actually read. So stop pointing fingers and keep all your racist remarks to yourself. Maybe you should Really think about the points your trying to make because it can be used against you too. Oh by the way try finding a state let a alone a country without any type of Asians.
Joesomebody April 07, 2013 at 07:36 PM
If there were such a place I would move there in a heart beat, EK. Unfortunately, they have spread like a virus to all corners of the West, infesting our way of life with their shallow values and lack of respect. Perhaps you should remember who built this country. It sure wasn't your leaching self. And I am not blaming Asians for everything, you pig; just for the downfall of the San Gabriel Valley. You people are always so defensive of any negative comment made about you, perhaps you should learn that it Is not Americans who have all the problems, it is also yourselves. Then maybe you'll learn to assimilate better into OUR society. Most other immigrants do it just fine, and I respect them for it. But when I see you people not even making an effort, it disgusts me. And I am not ignorant, nor do I wish to live in a hole. I am a 27 year old medical resident at UCLA medical center. Just because I take issue with people invading my hometown and DESTROYING it's charm does not make me racist. I am sure anyone ANYWHERE would take such a stance if they were in my situation. I am sure that if your Asian parents were to find out that their hometown were overrun with Americans and they were building a bunch of McDonald's and Macy's on every block, they would begin to develop negative feelings towards all Americans. You're an idiot for your lack of perspective, and I truly believe you should just leave this country. In fact, you should just leave this entire hemisphere.
Joesomebody April 07, 2013 at 07:42 PM
And I was not responding to Betty's comment, if you could actually read English. I was responding to DKat's.
EK April 07, 2013 at 08:11 PM
Your responses only show the kind of person you are. You can claim your a Med Student or whatever it is you can say. Your clearly not educated. Other countries do have American Restaurants. They are not racist towards Americans because of it. They embrace it because it makes the world better helps them understand and broaden their taste. However, you would know this if you did your research before you started making remarks and pointing fingers. Your welcome to go to the Mayor of Arcadia and let them know they should limit the amount of Asians moving in. No one was blaming the Americans for problems of any kind you are the one putting the blame. I am done responding to a child who clearly is not a medical student due to your name calling. Pick up a book and educate yourself.
Joesomebody April 07, 2013 at 09:16 PM
You're pathetic. You've resorted to attacking me personally instead of my argument because you have nothing left to argue. I believe my point is made.
Joesomebody April 07, 2013 at 09:17 PM
Why don't you learn logic and correct grammar before calling someone uneducated.
Elizabeth Montgomery April 13, 2013 at 06:49 PM
Joesomebody, you have been saying what A LOT of people in Arcadia now feel, thank you.
Elizabeth Montgomery April 13, 2013 at 07:04 PM
I for one would love to have a Golden Corral move into the old Acapulco space. I love buffets, but i don't go to Zen buffet. I don't eat octopus legs. It is disappointing to hear a Norms was turned away. I have always wanted to eat at one.
EK April 13, 2013 at 07:31 PM
I think a lot of people would like a larger variety of food in Arcadia. I do. But to blame all Asians for some bad apples is uncalled for. To tell All Asians to go back to their country is uncalled for.
