Time Warner Builds New Automated Facility on Duarte Road

The cable television company's new building will operate "video, data, and wire line phone services."

A new unmanned facility on Duarte Road will help handle cable television and internet service for Time Warner Inc., according to the city of Monrovia's Development Spotlight blog.

The automated facility at 446 E. Duarte Road "houses electronic equipment necessary to provide video, data, and wire line phone services on a 24/7 basis," for the company, according to the blog.

The author of the blog composed a poem about the facility that can be read here.

Champion Broadband also has now started charging a rental fee on modems as well...after 2 years of letting us think it was "included" with the deal when we signed on. We were told that they now need to get back from customers the fees which they have been charged. Hmmmmm.......

I've been wondering for months what that is! Neat.

For TimeWarner -- you can purchase your own Cable Modem and a TV-Set-Top box and they will REMOVE the Equip.Rental Fee, but they will charge for a CableTV-Tuner-Card ($2 dollars per month ?) for the TV-SetTop box. For Champion cable - they are forcing people to use their Cable Modem (which used to be a free rental) and now charge a monthly rental, but you can buy your own TV-Set-Top Box and they will remove the Equip.Rental Fee, but they will charge for a CableTV-Tuner-Card ($5dollars per month ?).

There is a alot of rule breaking going on with the Cable Companies, they are charging for fees which are NOT approved by the City Franchise authority and this has triggered a variety of class-action lawsuits across the nation. The Cable Companies are getting greedy - SOON there will be Streaming Video and we won't need their Cable TV_Video services(replaced by Roku, Amazon, Hulu, AREO,etc).
