Accident at Baldwin and Longden Leaves Bicyclist Injured

Police say driver struck bicyclist in crosswalk at intersection of Baldwin and Longden Avenues.

An accident involving a motorist and a bicyclist at the intersection of Baldwin and Longden Avenues has caused traffic delays as the Arcadia Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team investigates the circumstances that led to the incident.

Sgt. Mike Castro of the APD said the bicyclist was headed east on Longden Ave. when he was struck by an automobile going south on Baldwin Ave. The male bicyclist, an Arcadia resident in his 70s, was transported to a nearby hospital with moderate to severe injuries, according to police.

The driver is not being held by police, Lt. Bob Anderson confirmed.

The accident occurred around 4:08 p.m. Monday afternoon. Police expect to reopen the intersection of Baldwin and Longden Aves. by 10 p.m. Monday night.
