A doctor was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting four women at a medical center in Los Angeles between December 2010 and February, sheriff's deputies said Wednesday.

Dr. Steve Leong, 58, was arrested Friday at his home in Arcadia, according to deputies with the sheriff's Special Victims Bureau. The alleged crimes involved four women at the Claude Hudson Medical Center, 2829 S. Grand Avenue.

The women alleged the doctor took them into an examination room and forcefully kissed and grabbed them, according to the sheriff's department.

The women reported what allegedly happened to medical authorities, who notified sheriff's detectives.

Leong was freed on bail Tuesday, jail records show.

He is charged in a misdemeanor case with four counts of sexual battery, five counts of battery and six counts of false imprisonment, according to the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office.

Leong has pleaded not guilty, with a pretrial hearing set July 8 at the East Los Angeles courthouse.
