Arcadia High Honors Students Protesting Plan to Eliminate AP English Class

A group of students has organized against a proposed class change that administrators say will make AP English accessible to more students.

Honor students at Arcadia High School collected 1,500 signatures for a petition protesting a plan to eliminate an upper-level junior English class, the Pasadena Star-News reports.

The plan would push the AP English class from junior year to senior year for students, which the school asserts would give students more time to qualify for the class. The proposed change has not yet been submitted to the school board and could be scrapped, the paper reports.
