Arcadia Police Still Searching for Suspect Vehicle in Fatal Hit-And-Run

The Arcadia Police Department continues to seek the public's help in finding a vehicle suspected of being involved in a fatal-hit-and-run on Foothill Boulevard earlier this month.

The Monrovia Police Department joined the hunt Tuesday, posting a wanted flyer on its website depicting the vehicle suspected of fleeing the scene of a collision that killed a motorcyclist on May 7.

Los Angeles resident Kenneth Doherty, 32, was killed when a car hit his motorcycle along Foothill Boulevard in Arcadia the night of May 7. The car, believed to be a blue 2002 to 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution (or "Evo"), fled the scene, according to police.

Doherty and the suspect vehicle were seen speeding and driving erratically on the 210 Freeway before the collision, according to police.

"According to witness accounts, the suspect and victim appeared to be yelling at each other, possibly engaged in an argument or road rage incident," a May 14 police news release states. Surveillance footage from a local gas station showed the suspect vehicle "continuing eastbound on Foothill Boulevard from Santa Anita Avenue shortly after the collision."

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Arcadia Police at 626-574-5150.

"While investigators have reached out to local dealerships and online Mitsubishi communities, we believe that someone in the community may have additional information on the suspect and suspect vehicle," the release states. "The Arcadia Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect driver and in locating the suspect vehicle in this tragic, fatal collision."
