Shave Your Head at Matt Denny's to Fight Childhood Cancer

The restaurant's annual fundraiser for the St. Baldrick's Foundation takes place March 14.

For the 12th year in a row, Matt Denny's Ale House will host its annual head-shaving soiree for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation to raise money for childhood cancer research.

The fundraiser takes place March 14.

More than 100 community members, including firemen from the Arcadia and Monrovia Fire departments and officers from the Arcadia Police Department, will have their heads shaved onstage on the restaurant's patio.

“It’s so incredible to once again see the local community rallying behind St. Baldrick’s and organizing another great event that will help raise critical funds and awareness for childhood cancer research,” St. Baldrick's representative Traci Shirk told Patch. “One in five kids diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. will not survive. The funds raised at this event will go to support the best in childhood cancer research, so that kids fighting cancer not only survive, but thrive.”

Approximately 150 shavees helped raise more than $61,700 during last year's event, Shirk said, and the Foundation expects a turnout as good or better this year.
