Thanksgiving Travel: Gas Prices Slightly Down for Holiday Weekend

Are you planning on driving out of town for the holiday weekend? Gas prices are still higher in San Marino.

Sure, Thanksgiving means turkey, dressing and pumpkin pie. But, the holiday also means that plenty of drivers will be on the road to Grandma's house. According to the Automobile Club of Southern California, gas prices reached their highest levels in the week prior to Thanksgiving.

at Mission Street and Los Robles Avenue posted $3.89 per gallon of regular gas on Wednesday, just above the state and Los Angeles-Long Beach averages for a gallon of regular gas.

A regular gallon of gas is significantly more at on Huntington Drive at $4.19 on Wednesday.

Wednesday's average price for a gallon of regular gas in the Los Angeles/Long Beach metro area is $3.757, approximately 13 cents less per gallon than the gas found at Leon's Auto Care. Wednesday's LA/Long Beach average is slightly down from Tuesday's average of $3.768 per gallon of regular gas and the $3.828 price a week ago, according to the Automobile Club of Southern California.

While gas prices may be down from one week ago, they are significantly up from the average price for a regular gallon one year ago: $3.145.

Wednesday's average price for a regular gallon of gas in California is $3.747.
