Thrift Store Wants to Replace Ralphs on Live Oak Avenue

A new thrift store wants to open in the vacant building previously occupied by Ralphs on Live Oak Avenue, but the city's planning commission denied the store's proposal.

The Arcadia Planning Commission voted against issuing a conditional use permit last month for Savers Thrift Store, which wants to take over the 42,000 square-foot space at 16 Live Oak Avenue.

The company plans to appeal to the City Council, which could hear the appeal on Aug. 6, according to Arcadia Development Services Director Jason Kruckeberg.

Correction: A previous version of this story erroneously reported that the planning commission approved the project. We regret the error.
