53rd Sunland-Tujunga Lions Club Watermelon Festival

The Watermelon Festival returns with free watermelon slices
and a free spin on the Watermelon Wheel included with every admission.
Highlights are watermelon carving demonstrations and recipe contests,
watermelon eating and seed spitting contests, wearable art contests for both
humans and their four legged friends, and…the return of the greased watermelon
races! With nightly cash prize drawings, local bands and national touring acts
for your listening pleasure, a bazaar marketplace, carnival rides, arcade
games, an array of festival food favorites and beverages. The event also opens
with the ever popular coronation of the Watermelon Queen, King and their court.
It’s a fun time for the whole family! 
The festival is open Saturday from 10:00am to 9:00pm and Sunday from
10:00am to 8:00pm. Festival entrance is Gate #6 off Colorado Place. Cost is $10
for adults, $5 for children, $8 for seniors and active military personnel.
