Community Corner

Asian Youth Center at Arcadia Chamber Networking Breakfast

The Asian Youth Center (AYC), a non-profit community based organization serving the social service and educational needs of all youth and families, with a focus on Asian Immigrants will be this month's guest speaker on Thursday, Mar. 20, at the Arcadia Chamber of Comemerce's monthly Networking Breakfast, sponsored by Rose Hills Memorial Park & Mortuary.

Dr. William E. White will also receive recognition as an Arcadia Business Icon Presented by the Chamber in partnership with the Arcadia Historical Society.

Come out and join your industry peers for a morning of breakfast and networking from 7:30am-9am in the Sunset Room at the Santa Anita Golf Course. Guest speaker and Executive Director of the AYC, Michelle Freridge, will speak about the AYC mission and the many different great programs they have.

The Arcadia Business Icon, Dr. William E. White, has treated three generations of families in the Arcadia and Sierra Madre area for the past 48 years that he has practiced family medicine. He was Chief of Staff at Methodist Hospital in 1984, has been actively involved with the Sierra Madre Search and Rescue Team since the 1960s, and is a longtime resident of Arcadia. When Dr. White leaves his office he may hike the trails of our nearby canyons, (he is an authority on their history) go sailing, or lend a hand in another community project.

As always, attendees of the Networking Breakfast (third Thursday of each month), sponsored by Rose Hills Memorial Park & Mortuary, not only enjoy a great breakfast buffet and valuable networking with dozens of others, but also introduce themselves one at a time with a 30-second “elevator pitch.” In addition, they have a chance to win one of multiple gifts donated by members and attendees for a business card drawing, one of which is a free three-minute Business Spotlight, this month by last month’s winner, Tamara Kato of Comfort Keepers.
