Final night of Christmas Market Downtown Arcadia

The final night of the Arcadia’s Best Downtown Christmas Market from 5-9 p.m. tonight, Saturday, Dec. 21, promises to be the biggest and best ever.
A second two-piece singing group will be added who specialize in Christmas and folk music to keep attendees entertained as they stroll along First Avenue amidst festive colored lights, falling snow and more than 50 vendors offering traditional holiday food such as kettle corn and hot cider as well as special treats such as swirling potatoes on a stick, and myriad unique holiday gifts and a farmer's market of fruit, vegetables and produce.
In keeping with the traditions of the more than a century old Christkindle Markets of Europe, attendees may also find special spiced Mulled Wine or Mulled Cider at the Market.

Families and kids will enjoy a return visit by Santa Claus wandering the Market and posing for photos with children on his lap on a throne framed by lights at the corner of First and Huntington Drive. A giant inflatable slide will be set up near Wheeler Avenue.

The Market is sponsored primarily by Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension Construction Authority, as well as Forest Lawn, with additional support from the City of Arcadia, Matt Denny’s Ale House Restaurant, Bacani-Taylor NAI Capital, Attorney at Law April A. Verlato, and Arcadia Downtown Business Assocation.
The event is produced by Family Festival Productions (weekly Friday night market in Monrovia).

Also returning will be the popular Asian fusion Phantom Food truck, famous for its Peking Duck wrap and Peking Duck fries (roasted duck and hoisin sauce), JuDu pork belly and chili pepper wrap, Duck Melt, as well as its curry chicken wrap, and “Black Fury” flank steak and pepper wrap.

Joining the line-up this week will be Christine's Collectibles on First Avenue near Duarte Road and a possible booth by Helen's Cycles. Special gifts from jewelers, spas, and salons on First Avenue and Huntington Drive, such as Spa Xanadu will also be available, as will cinammon-spiced hot apple cider from VJ's Auto Service, and plenty of other delicious food and drinks. Shops on the block including Robusto Cigars, 1st Avenue Salon, Fitness Factor, 24 Hour Fitness, Move Your Mountain fitness, Macho de Mano, and Arcadia Shoe Repair will once again remain open during the event.

The Christmas Market, presented by the non-profit Arcadia’s Best Foundation, showcases the plethora of services available within walking distance in Downtown Arcadia, all of which continue to be open for business during construction of the much-anticipated Gold Line light rail line to be ready for riders in 2016.

Plenty of free parking is available in several public lots off of Wheeler Avenue east and west of First Ave. Attendees should enter Wheeler from Santa Anita Ave.
