(Video) Popular 626 Market Headed to Arcadia

Asian food aficionados, prepare to rejoice (and salivate). The 626 Night Market is coming to the infield at next month.

The ultra-popular Asian market has outgrown its former Pasadena home; the last 626 Night Market event, held in July, drew a crowd of more than 40,000.

Though primarily intended to exhibit Asian foods and products, the free event will also include movies on the lawn, a dance floor and performance artists.

"This is a great opportunity for all of us, and we are going to do everything we need to do to ensure that those who come here will have a great experience,” said in a press release.

Market founder Jonny Hwang told the 626 Foodettes blog that organizers have lowered the price for vendors in keeping with the market's motto of supporting local business.

“It has decreased by about $130 per night and includes equipment such as canopy rental, permits, and electricity,” Hwang told blogger Clarissa Wei. “Our rates are lower than most, if not all, large Asian events. While we are not subsidized by host cities or media entities, one of our primary goals is to support local businesses and entrepreneurs as a platform with a low cost of entry.”

Market organizers are still accepting vendor applications.

The Saturday market will run from 3 p.m.-12 a.m. The Sunday market will run from 3 p.m.-10 p.m. Parking costs $7. Arrive between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. for $4 parking.
