Johnny Depp has another movie filming at . Depp's silver screen adaptation of the hit 1950's TV show “The Lone Ranger” is shooting in the track's parking lot.
The actor first came to Aracdia to film some pick-up shots for “Public Enemies" at the track a few years ago. However, Depp, who plays Tonto in "Lone Ranger," likely won't have to show his face for this shoot. Neither will the film's director, Gore Verbinski.
Rumor has it the shoot is limited to a second-unit crew filming various visual effects shots: Hence, the scaffold-like structure in the parking lot, visible to the nearly 40,000 cars per day that pass on Huntington Drive near Holly Avenue.
The structure is actually the backside of a giant green-screen, constructed to allow the film's editors to digitally insert different backgrounds into various scenes.
Also visible from the track's parking lot in recent days is an old Western-style train car.
"The Lone Ranger," which also stars Armie Hammer, is scheduled to open July 3, 2013.
