My Usher at Pasadena Playhouse: Mayor Kovacic

It's just one of the many volunteer activities Kovacic does on a regular basis.

Sunday night at the Pasadena Playhouse we were surprised to run into Arcadia and his wife, Barb, volunteering as ushers. They’ve been doing it for years, even though they both continue to work full-time jobs. Mayor Kovacic’s theme this year is Volunteerism, and this was yet another example that he walks the walk.

Ushering is just one of the many volunteer efforts he does. The Constitution team he helps coach just won the state championship again and will be heading to Washington to try to win another national championship from April 27-May 1. (If you want to help fund the team’s trip  and the We the People Program, click here and be sure to note “National Finals–California” as the purpose of your donation.)

Mayor Kovacic isn’t the only one who spends an unusual amount of time volunteering in Arcadia. Even most of his fellow candidates for City Council in the current election donate their time.

This just scratches the surface of what all these people have contributed, and these are but five of the hundreds of people in Arcadia who devote their free time to making Arcadia such a terrific community. After all, where else would the Mayor show you to your theatre seat?
