As new breaks of a mass school shooting Friday morning in Newtown, Conn., what thoughts does it evoke for you?

A mass shooting Friday morning at a Connecticut elementary school may be one of the worst to ever occur.

Several fatalities—an official count is pending notification of family members—have been confirmed by law enforcement on scene at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Conn.

The alleged shooter is deceased inside of the school that serves children in kindergarten through fourth grade.

Two thoughts: Security was lax. That the shooter could walk from his parked car with an assault rifle in his hand and not be seen is poor. Security should be scanning with a camera at any and all who enter school property. Second thought, I cannot help but think of the families who lost children when I see Christmas decorations here as they are there. How horrible.....will the families still celebrate Christmas; I don;t see how they could. What about any already purchased presents for the now dead children? I think many are wondering the same thing. It is beyond description when one puts all elements together.
