A two-vehicle crash on the Foothill (210) Freeway in Monrovia today sent seven people to hospitals, including a family of five, and temporarily shut down freeway lanes.

The crash took place just east of Huntington on the westbound 210 Freeway just after 5 a.m., said California Highway Patrol Officer Patrick Kimball.

Two people were reported as unconscious at the scene, Kimball said.

Initial reports from witnesses indicated that one of the two vehicles was going more than 100 miles per hour before it swerved to avoid a disabled car and crashed, according to CHP Officer Ed Jacobs.
