85-Year-Old Arcadia Woman Reported Missing

Emilia Alvarez, an 85-year-old Arcadia resident, has been reported missing, according to the Arcadia Police Department.

Alvarez was last seen at her apartment in the 700 block of Fairview Avenue on Friday at 12:30 p.m.  Lt. Paul Foley of the APD said Alvarez's daughter, who lives with her mother at the Fairview Avenue apartment, reported her mother missing Friday night.

Lt. Foley said police have checked a huge area around the apartment in search of Alvarez. Police have also contacted local hospitals and Alvarez's family members in the area, according to Foley.

The APD's official blog lists Alvarez at 5 ft. tall and 140 lbs with brown hair and brown eyes. Police said Alvarez was wearing a purple vest, blue jeans, and black shoes at the time of her disappearance.

Lt. Foley said that Alvarez has a heart condition and has showed some signs of age-related dementia.

Police are asking residents to call 9-1-1 or contact the department at 626-574-5150 if you see Alvarez or have information that can assist in helping safely locate her.
