A doctor who took patients into an exam room and forcefully kissed and grabbed them was sentenced Monday to one month in jail and five years probation.
Dr. Steve Leong was also sentenced to 30 days of Caltrans work and psychiatric counseling.
He was sentenced immediately following his plea of no contest to four misdemeanor counts of false imprisonment and four counts of sexual exploitation of a patient, also misdemeanors.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Upinder Kalra ordered Leong not to see any female patients and to stay away from witnesses and victims in the case, according to City Attorney's Office spokesman Frank Mateljan.
The 58-year-old doctor was arrested May 31 at his home in Arcadia. Sheriff's deputies with the Special Victims Bureau said the crimes involved four women being treated at the Claude Hudson Medical Center, 2829 S. Grand Ave., and occurred between December 2010 and February.
The victims reported the incidents to medical authorities, who notified sheriff's detectives.
Leong will also be required to make a $2,500 donation to charity as part of his sentence.
