Arcadia Fire Blotter: 4 Injured in Rollover Crash on 210 Freeway

Sunday, December 1

At 12:49 p.m., Engine 105, Engine 106, Engine 107, Truck 105, Rescue Ambulance 106, Monrovia Truck 101, and Battalion 105 responded to a structure fire in the 1000 block of West Huntington Drive. Engine 106 arrived on scene and reported nothing showing from a 30 unit apartment complex. Fire crews investigated further to find a unit to the rear of the property filled with smoke due to food left unattended on a stove. Truck 105 utilized a ventilation fan to remove the smoke from the unit.

Monday, December 2

At 9:38 p.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical assist in the 1800 block of South Lee Avenue. A worker, who had been contracted to do some painting at a residence, happened to look into the next door neighbor’s rear yard and noticed a person lying on the ground. Fire crews arrived to find an 87 year old female with a broken femur from a trip and fall. Paramedics provided advanced life support measures on scene; including full spinal immobilization, immobilization of the fractured leg, intravenous access, 12 lead electrocardiogram, and oxygen therapy. The patient was transported to Huntington Memorial Hospital for further evaluation.

Tuesday, December 3

At 12:28 p.m., Engine 105, Truck 105, Rescue Ambulance 106, Pasadena Engine 37, and Battalion 105 responded to a traffic collision on the eastbound 210 Freeway at Baldwin Avenue. Fire units arrived on scene and assessed four patients who were injured when the vehicle they were travelling in rolled over. All four patients were transported to the closest trauma center for further treatment and evaluation.

Wednesday, December 4

At 6:24 a.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical assist in the 100 block of South Greenfield Place. Fire crews arrived to find a 75 year old female who was not feeling well. Paramedics determined she was experiencing a cardiac dysrhythmia and provided advanced life support measures on scene; including intravenous access, 12 lead electrocardiogram, and oxygen therapy. The patient was transported to Arcadia Methodist Hospital for further evaluation.

Thursday, December 5

At 10:36 a.m., Engine 106 and Air Utility 106 responded to a second alarm structure fire in the 900 block of Electric Avenue in the City of Alhambra. Arcadia firefighters were assigned by the Incident Commander to set up a rehabilitation area for the fire crews working to suppress the fire. In addition, Arcadia firefighters were assigned to fill the self-contained breathing apparatus air tanks as they were depleted by suppression personnel. Engine 106 and Air Utility 106 remained on scene for two hours to assist at the scene.

Friday, December 6

At 6:55 p.m., Engine 105 and a Monrovia Fire Paramedic unit responded to a medical assist in the 00 block of West Huntington Drive. Fire crews arrived to find a 33 year old female transient who was unconscious and incontinent. A heavy odor of alcohol was noted on the patient. Paramedics provided advance life support measures on scene; including intravenous access, 12 lead electrocardiogram, and oxygen therapy. The patient was transported to Arcadia Methodist Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

Saturday, December 7

At 12:17 p.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical assist in the 700 block of West Camino Real Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel evaluated a female patient who was suffering from shortness of breath. The patient received advanced life support at the scene; including oxygen therapy, 12 lead cardiac monitoring, intravenous access, and drug therapy. The patient was transported to Arcadia Methodist Hospital Emergency Department for further evaluation and treatment.
