Arcadia Fire Blotter: 'Male Experiencing an Altered Level of Consciousness with Incontinence'

Sunday, November 17

At 3:40 a.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical assist at the intersection of Santa Anita Avenue and Duarte Road. Fire crews arrived to find a 55 year old female sitting in a parked vehicle suffering from shortness of breath. Her son was driving her to the hospital when he decided it would be best to stop and called 9-1-1. Paramedics provided advanced life support measures on scene; including intravenous access, 12 lead electrocardiogram, and oxygen therapy. The patient was transported to Arcadia Methodist Hospital for further evaluation.

Monday, November 18

At 5:27 p.m., Engine 107 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical assist in the 300 block of East Forest Avenue. Fire crews arrived to find a 26 year old male experiencing an altered level of consciousness with incontinence. Family members stated the patient had been on a drinking binge, fell off the sofa and struck his face. Paramedics provided advanced life support measures on scene; including intravenous access, 12 lead electrocardiogram, full spinal immobilization, and oxygen therapy. The patient was transported to Huntington Memorial Hospital for further evaluation.

Tuesday, November 19

At 11:51 a.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical assist in the 400 block of East Santa Clara Street. Upon arrival, fire personnel evaluated a male patient who was suffering from chest pain with a cardiac dysrhythmia. The patient received advanced life support at the scene; including oxygen therapy, 12 lead cardiac monitoring, intravenous access, and drug therapy. The patient was transported to Arcadia Methodist Hospital Emergency Department for further evaluation and treatment.

Wednesday, November 20

At 9:17 a.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical assist in the 900 block of West Kingsley Drive. Fire crews arrived to find a 90 year old male who had fallen in the bathroom and was suffering from hip pain. Paramedics provided advanced life support measures on scene, including intravenous access and full spinal precautions. The patient was transported to Arcadia Methodist Hospital for further evaluation.

Thursday, November 21

At 1:09 p.m., Engine 105, Rescue Ambulance 105, Truck 105, and Battalion 105 responded to a traffic collision with a person trapped at the intersection of South Second Avenue and Genoa Street. Upon arrival, fire personnel found one patient with minor to moderate injuries requiring extrication. The patient received advanced life support at the scene; including full spinal immobilization, intravenous access, oxygen therapy, and 12 lead cardiac monitoring. The patient was transported to Arcadia Methodist Hospital Emergency Department for further evaluation and treatment.

Friday, November 22

At 4:59 p.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical assist in the 900 block of South Baldwin Avenue. Fire crews arrived on scene and found a female patient with an arm injury from a gymnastics accident. Paramedics splinted the injured arm and transported the patient to a local hospital for further treatment and evaluation.

Upon arrival, fire personnel found one patient with minor to moderate injuries requiring extrication. The patient received advanced life support at the scene; including full spinal

Saturday, November 23

At 10:30 a.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical assist in the 200 block of East Live Oak Avenue. Fire crews arrived on scene to find a male patient suffering from chest pain. The patient stated the pain began while walking. Paramedics assessed the patient and performed advanced life support measures, including cardiac monitoring and drug therapy. The patient was transported to a local hospital for further treatment and evaluation.

At 4:03 p.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical assist in the 1400 block of South Tenth Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel evaluated a male patient who was suffering from an altered mental status. The patient received advanced life support at the scene; including oxygen therapy, 12 lead cardiac monitoring, intravenous access, blood glucose monitoring, and drug therapy. The patient was transported to Arcadia Methodist Hospital Emergency Department for further evaluation and treatment.
