Arcadia Fire Blotter: Man Injured in Fall from Tree

The following information is from the Arcadia Fire Department:

Monday, November 25

At 5:15 p.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a traffic collision involving a pedestrian on a bicycle at the intersection of South Second Avenue and East Duarte Road. Upon arrival, fire personnel evaluated a male patient suffering from minor to moderate injuries. The patient received advanced life support at the scene; including oxygen therapy, intravenous access, cardiac monitoring, wound care, and full spinal immobilization. The patient was transported to Arcadia Methodist Hospital Emergency Department for further evaluation and treatment.

Tuesday, November 26

At 9:18 a.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical emergency in the 00 block of Fano Street. Fire crews arrived on scene to find a male patient who was suffering from an altered level of consciousness. Paramedics performed advanced life support measures; including cardiac monitoring, oxygen saturation monitoring, and drug therapy. The patient was transported to a local hospital for further treatment and evaluation.

Truck 105 responded to the scene to determine if any environmental factors at the location contributed to the condition of the patient. Truck 105 utilized a four gas atmospheric monitor to rule out any environmental hazards.

Wednesday, November 27

At 12:22 p.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical assist inside a medical building in the 600 block of West Duarte Road. Fire crews arrived to find a 65 year old female suffering from shortness of breath while receiving chemotherapy medication. Paramedics provided advanced life support measures on scene; including intravenous access, 12-lead electrocardiogram, and oxygen therapy. The patient was transported to Arcadia Methodist Hospital for further evaluation.

Thursday, November 28

At 3:07 p.m., Engine 105 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical assist in the 400 block of South Santa Anita Avenue. Upon arrival, fire personnel evaluated a male patient who was suffering from head, neck, and lower back pain following a 10 foot fall from a tree. The patient received advanced life support at the scene; including oxygen therapy, intravenous access, and spinal immobilization. The patient was transported to Los Angeles County USC Medical Center Emergency Department for further evaluation and treatment.

Friday, November 29

At 12:25 a.m., Engine 107 and Rescue Ambulance 105 responded to a medical assist in the 500 block of North Santa Cruz Road. Fire crews arrived to find a 34 year old female suffering from abdominal pain. The patient was weak and dizzy and began vomiting. Paramedics provided advanced life support measures on scene; including intravenous access, 12-lead electrocardiogram, and oxygen therapy. The patient was transported to Arcadia Methodist Hospital for further evaluation.

Saturday, November 30

At 3:42 p.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical assist in the 400 block of South Baldwin Avenue. Fire crews arrived to find a 68 year old female who had suffered a syncopal episode. The patient was feeling very weak and dizzy after regaining consciousness. Paramedics provided advanced life support measures on scene; including intravenous access, 12 lead electrocardiogram, and oxygen therapy. The patient was transported to Arcadia Methodist Hospital for further evaluation.
