Arcadia Fire Dept. Responds to 14 Calls Related to Breeder's Cup

One response involves a jockey who had fallen from a horse during a race.

The following is from the Arcadia Fire Department: 

On Friday November 2, 2013, Arcadia units responded to eight emergency calls related to the Breeder’s Cup; including trip and fall, syncope, weak and dizzy, and traffic collision with injury. Paramedics performed advanced life support measures; including cardiac monitoring, glucose monitoring, and drug therapy. Several patients required emergency transport to local hospitals for further evaluation and treatment.

On Saturday November 3, 2013, Arcadia units responded to six calls for emergency medical services related to the Breeder’s Cup. One response involved a jockey who had fallen from a horse during a race. Paramedics assessed the patient, placed him in full cerebral spinal precautions, and transported him to the closest trauma center.
