Arcadia PD Hosting Multi-Agency DUI Enforcement Checkpoint Saturday

The Monrovia Police Department and other local law enforcement agencies will join APD in the anti-DUI campaign.

Several local law enforcement agencies will join the Arcadia Police Department in an anti-DUI operation Saturday night as part of the "Avoid the 100" campaign.

The sobriety and driver's license checkpoint will be set up in partnership with the from the Monrovia, El Monte, Sierra Madre, West Covina and Baldwin Park School Police departments, according to a news release.

"One of the goals of the checkpoint is to promote public safety and increase awareness of the dangers associated with drinking and driving," the release states. "This will be accomplished by providing a highly visible enforcement and publicity campaign, in order to deter intoxicated drivers from getting behind the wheel and driving."

Local residents can get a free ride home Saturday night from Jan’s Towing within their service area. Call 626-334-1383 for more information.
