Arcadia Police Detectives Looking for Leads in Drive-By Shooting

A man says someone shot at him from a vehicle as he stood on a sidewalk on Lovell Avenue Tuesday afternoon.

A drive-by shooting apparently missed it's intended target Tuesday and Arcadia Police investigators are appealing to the public for help in finding the suspect.

A man told police that he was shot at after engaging in an argument with another man who was inside a stopped vehicle on Lovell Avenue south of Duarte Road at about 1:38 p.m., according to a department news release.

"The victim said that he had been standing on the east sidewalk and the suspect stopped his vehicle on Lovell Avenue," the release states. "The victim and suspect exchanged words, and the victim thought the suspect was about to shoot at him. The victim ducked, the suspect shot at him, and the victim’s vehicle was struck. The victim was not hit by the shots."

The suspect is described as The suspect was described as a male African-American with a medium build in his early 30’s wearing a dark-colored long-sleeved shirt driving a black 2006 Toyota sedan.

The motive is unclear and police asked for anyone with information on the shooting to call 626-574-5151.
